We’re excited to announce Online Subsystem Blueprintable v3.0 — our biggest update ever, featuring a complete rewrite from the ground up.

What’s New in v3.0

100+ Blueprint Nodes

We’ve significantly expanded Blueprint coverage:

  • Identity & Auth — 15 new nodes for advanced login flows
  • Friends & Social — Complete friends list management
  • Achievements — Progress tracking and display
  • Leaderboards — Multiple sort modes and filters
  • Matchmaking — Lobby creation and management
  • Cloud Saves — Cross-platform save sync

Runtime Platform Switching

The most requested feature is finally here! Switch between online platforms at runtime:

// In your game's login screen
Get Available Online Subsystems
→ Display in UI dropdown
On Player Selects Platform
→ Switch Online Subsystem (Platform)
→ Begin login flow

This enables:

  • Testing different platforms without rebuilding
  • User choice of login method
  • Graceful fallbacks if a platform is unavailable

Unreal Engine 5.4 Support

Full support for UE 5.4 with optimizations for the new features:

  • Enhanced async operations
  • Better memory management
  • Improved Blueprint debugging

Consistent API

We’ve renamed and reorganized nodes for consistency:

Breaking Changes

v3.0 includes some breaking changes from v2.x:

  2. Async patterns — All operations now use consistent delegate binding
  3. Platform initialization — Explicit initialization now required
