Purchasing & Licensing

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover) through Stripe. All transactions are processed securely.

Can I get an invoice for my purchase?

Yes! Invoices are automatically generated for all purchases. You can download them from your Dashboard → Orders. If you need a custom invoice with specific company details, contact billing@gamedna.studio.

Can I upgrade my license later?

Yes! You can upgrade at any time from your Dashboard. You’ll only pay the price difference. Upgrades are instant.

Do licenses expire?

Indie and Pro licenses include 1 year of updates. After that:

  • Your current version continues to work forever
  • You won’t receive new updates
  • You can renew at 50% of the original price

Ultimate licenses include lifetime updates.

Can I use one license for multiple projects?

Yes! Licenses are per-seat (machine), not per-project. You can use a single license across all your projects.

What if I exceed the Indie revenue cap?

If your project(s) exceed $100k annual revenue, you need to upgrade to Pro or Ultimate. We don’t automatically enforce this, but it’s required by the license terms.

Can I transfer my license to someone else?

Yes, but only once per license. Contact support@gamedna.studio with:

  • Your license key
  • New owner’s email address
  • Reason for transfer

Installation & Setup

Which Unreal Engine versions are supported?

All gameDNA plugins support Unreal Engine 5.3, 5.4, and 5.5. Each plugin download includes binaries for all supported versions.

How do I install a plugin?

  1. Download from your Dashboard
  2. Extract to YourProject/Plugins/
  3. Restart Unreal Editor
  4. Activate your license in Project Settings

Can I install plugins engine-wide?

Yes! Extract to UE_5.x/Engine/Plugins/Marketplace/ instead of your project folder. The plugin will be available in all projects.

Why is my license activation failing?

Common causes:

  • No internet connection - Activation requires internet
  • Incorrect key format - Should be GDNA-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX
  • All seats used - Deactivate another machine first
  • Firewall blocking - Allow connections to store.gamedna.studio

How do I move my license to a new computer?

Pro/Ultimate: Go to Dashboard → Licenses → Manage Activations → Deactivate old machine → Activate new machine.

Indie: Contact support to request a transfer.


Plugin Features

Do plugins work in Blueprint-only projects?

Yes! All gameDNA plugins have full Blueprint support. No C++ knowledge required.

Do plugins work with packaged games?

Absolutely. All plugins are designed to work in both Editor and packaged builds.

Are plugins compatible with each other?

Yes, all gameDNA plugins are designed to work together without conflicts.

Do plugins support dedicated servers?

Yes, where applicable. Check each plugin’s documentation for server-specific features.

Can I use plugins on consoles?

Yes, all plugins support PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch. However:

  • You need appropriate console dev kit access
  • Console SDKs are not included (you must have them from the platform holder)
  • Some features may have platform-specific limitations

How do I report a bug?

Can I modify the plugin code?

  • Indie/Pro: No source code access. Use the provided Blueprint/C++ APIs.
  • Ultimate: Full source code access. Modify as needed, but modified versions aren’t eligible for support.

Do plugins collect any data?

Plugins may send:

  • License validation requests (license key, machine ID)
  • Anonymous crash reports (optional, can be disabled)

Refunds & Support

What’s your refund policy?

We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. If a plugin doesn’t work for your use case, contact us for a full refund.

Exceptions:

  • Ultimate licenses (due to source code access)
  • Obvious abuse of the refund policy

Can I use plugins in commercial games?

Yes! All license types allow commercial use.

Do I need to credit gameDNA?

No credit is required, but we appreciate mentions!

What happens if gameDNA shuts down?

In the unlikely event we cease operations:

  • All licenses will be converted to perpetual
  • Source code will be released to existing customers
  • Documentation will remain available

Can I get a custom license agreement?

Enterprise customers can request custom license terms. Contact enterprise@gamedna.studio.
